Disney has just officially announced the opening dates for the second blockbuster attraction in Galaxy’s Edge, Rise of the Resistance for both coasts.
Disney states, “As soon as work is completed at Walt Disney World, Imagineers will head back to California to complete their mission at Disneyland Resort…”
Sounds like they are moving all of the Imagineering team and resources towards getting the attraction in Florida online as soon as possible. Our reading on the situation is that guest surveys and internal research indicated that Rise of the Resistance not being open is one of the major reasons people aren’t booking resort stays and why Disneyland has been slower than expected since Galaxy’s Edge opened.
Disneyland, being a much more locals-heavy resort, will be fine once the summer Annual Pass blackouts are over starting August 18th, but if Disney didn’t put resources into getting the attraction up in Walt Disney World quickly it would be a much larger problem there.
