UPDATE 12:10 PM: Reservations are now all gone! Those who didn’t get one this morning and don’t book one of the few Disneyland Resort hotel rooms available will have to wait until June 24th when standby access to the land will be permitted. Disney announced that when standby access starts they will be implementing a virtual queue system, so you can ride other attractions/etc instead of just standing in a line waiting to get into Galaxy’s Edge.

Disney just announced all the Galaxy’s Edge reservations details for this morning, May 2nd, along with an FAQ page with even more details and rules about the reservation process. Reservations will open up at 10am Pacific Time today and are sure to fill up quickly! Reservations are required for access to Galaxy’s Edge for all guests without Disney-hotel stays booked for dates between May 31st and June 23rd, 2019.

Disney has setup a special reservation page that states, “Please note that there is no advantage to arriving on this page prior to that time. However, once reservations begin at 10:00 AM Pacific Time, you will lose your place in line if you close this page or refresh your browser. Reservations are subject to availability.”

There will be NO STAND-BY ACCESS WITHOUT A RESERVATION UNTIL JUNE 24th, so getting one is your only opportunity to visit until then.

One person can make a reservation for up to 6 people. “The primary Guest making the reservation for the group must provide a valid government-issued photo ID at check-in and must be 14 years of age or older, or else the entire party will be unable to access the land.”

  • You may add up to 5 additional Guests.
  • Each Guest 3 years of age or older will need a reservation.
  • Each Guest is limited to one reservation.
  • You will not be able to modify Guest names or the reservation date and time.
  • You will not be able to add new Guests.
  • Each adult Guest (age 18 or over) must provide a valid government-issued photo ID to access the land.
  • Once you make your reservation, no changes or modifications will be allowed. Reservations are void if transferred or sold and have no cash value. Unused reservations will be forfeited and not replaced.

“Guests staying at one of the 3 Disneyland Resort hotels during these dates will receive a designated reservation to access Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge during their stay (one reservation per registered Guest); valid theme park admission is required. If the hotel reservation is cancelled, the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge reservation will be cancelled.”

The Disneyland site was having some issues early this morning just after Disney released all the details

If you are not staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel between May 31 and June 23, 2019, you can make a reservation to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge starting at 10:00 AM Pacific Time on May 2, 2019; subject to availability. If you have not already done so, please create a Disney account before this time.”

The first part of that makes it sound like guests who already booked Disney hotel stays during that time may be ineligible to try for an additional reservation today, whereas on the Parks Blog entry it just says guests with Disney hotel bookings, “do not need to sign up for a reservation.” UPDATE: We were able to go ahead and book an additional reservation even though we already have a Disney-hotel stay booked with a confirmed Galaxy’s Edge reservation for opening day.

“During the reservation period, access to the experiences in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is subject to capacity. Once you make your reservation, no changes or modifications will be allowed. Reservations are void if transferred or sold and have no cash value. Unused reservations will be forfeited and not replaced. “

Head over to the Disneyland website now, get yourself logged in a bit before 10AM just to be safe, then head to the special reservation page and prepare to make the jump to hyperspace! May the Force be with you! We’ll be updating this post with additional intel and information throughout the day, as well as over on our Instagram, so lock onto our signal and follow along!

UPDATE: The reservation page looks like just a static page, does not have any spot in line or other indicator that anything is happening. You will get sent from that static page to another page to book reservations as long as they’re still available, so you should just stay on the initial reservation page and don’t refresh your web browser or you will lose your place in line.

Make sure to add all the names of any additional people in your party on the first page that pops up to book the reservation. Click the blue link that says “Add Another Guest” and enter their names. You are not able to modify or change the reservation at all after it’s confirmed, and from reports on Twitter sounds like people are missing this step.

Looks like a lot of people missed this step on the first page, and booked the reservation without adding the names of the additional people in their party. Disney said the reservations are unable to be changed after confirming them, but not sure if they’ll make exceptions. Worth reaching out to customer service and asking, the sooner the better.
